The Downtown Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (SSMID) is pleased to announce the appointment of Loren Hartelt to its Commission. Hartelt, a dedicated professional with extensive experience in the construction and design industries, brings a wealth of knowledge and fresh perspective to the leadership team.
Hartelt currently serves as a key team member at CRST The Transportation Solution, Inc., as the Director of Facilities & Real Estate, where he contributes to advancing one of Cedar Rapids’ flagship businesses. His expertise in real estate & business development combined with a strong commitment to community development, makes him an excellent addition to the Downtown SSMID Board.

As a board member, Hartelt will help guide initiatives that support business development, downtown beautification, and community engagement within the Downtown SSMID boundaries. His insights will also contribute to strengthening partnerships with local businesses and organizations to ensure the district continues to grow as a key economic and cultural center for Cedar Rapids.
