Downtown Parking Notification for Week of November 9

Message from Cedar Rapids Parking:

Cedar Rapids, Iowa --Cedar Rapids Parking is reaching out to patrons, employees and businesses that use or plan to use any of the city-owned parking ramps during the week of November 9 – 13. City-owned ramps include: Five Seasons, 3rd Avenue, 4th Avenue and Ground Transportation Center (GTC) ramps.


November 9 – 10: Alliant Energy will be transition the 3rd Avenue ramp’s temporary power supply to a permanent supply on November 9 and 10. During this transition, all power to the 3rd Ave Parkade will be shut down. This will include both lighting and elevators. 3rd Avenue parkers may remain in the lots during this transformation or seek alternative parking. Monthly parkers may use their 3rd Avenue parking pass to gain access to 4th Avenue Parkade, 5 Season Parkade, or lots 9, 10, & 12 on November 9 and 10. Cedar Rapids Parking encourages displaced parkers to utilize the 4th Avenue ramp if possible, however, please note that there is currently no elevator service in the 4th Avenue ramp.

ovember 11 – 14: The Iowa State Volleyball Tournament will take place at the US Cellular Center starting November 11 – 14. Tournament organizers estimate that 30,000 will visit downtown, including staff, players, and spectators. Even though offsite parking has been arranged for tournament participants, spectators and coaches, Cedar Rapids Parking anticipates higher than normal use of the Five Seasons ramp. Five Season’s monthly parkers have the option to use their parking pass to gain access to 3rd Avenue Parkade, 4th Avenue Parkade, Lots 9,10, & 12 during the November 11 – 14.
