Farmers' Market Day Details
Saturday, September 4
The Cedar Rapids Downtown District invites the community to the Downtown Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 4 from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Location of the market includes 3rd and 4th Avenues, 2nd and 3rd Street SE as well as Greene Square Park.
Post market visit, patrons are encouraged to stay downtown and watch the University of Iowa’s opening game against Eastern Illinois. Kick off is at 11:01AM and eateries such as Brick’s, City Beat, DC’s Riverwalk, Dublin City Pub, Shawn Ryan’s and Gringos will be open. The theme for the September 4 market is “Celebrate Agriculture” with a variety of activities from Iowa State’s University Extension Linn County program. Activities in Greene Square Park will include Spend Smart/Eat Smart, growing and preserving home grown food and 4-H demonstrations.
Patrons are encouraged to park in the 3rd and 4th Avenue ramps, with handicap accessible parking available in the lot behind the True North building. Guaranty Bank’s parking lot along 2nd Avenue will also be open for parking use.
While patrons can enjoy the classic market elements, the Cedar Rapids Downtown District will continue to offer a variety of entertainment and activity including a cooking demonstration and an assortment of entertainment and displays from non-profit organizations throughout the Corridor.
